World champions, Argentina have defeated Colombia to a record 16th Copa America.
In a keenly contested final, Lionel Messi’s Argentina came out on top and defeated Colombia 1-0 thanks to an extra time goal by Lautaro Martinez.
Lionel Scaloni’s team have now won every major tournament since he took over the national team as head coach having won the Copa America 2021, Finalisima 2022, World cup 2022 and now Copa America 2024.
The Copa America final, which was delayed as a result of ticketless fans chaos was held at the prestigious Hard rock stadium in Miami, USA.
Argentina will now face Euro 2024 champions, Spain in the next edition of Finalisima in 2025.
