Eight school children survived a severe motor accident in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.
According to eyewitnesses, the children are pupils of Kingdom Heritage Nursery and Primary School in Lokoja.
They were returning from school on Thursday when the incident occurred at the popular Lokongoma market. A heavy-duty truck carrying a container fell on two small vehicles, trapping the children.
The combined efforts of the Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and other relevant agencies led to the children’s rescue. Kogi State Security Adviser Commodore Jerry Omodara (Rtd.) was present to ensure the children’s rescue.
As of 5:17 PM, efforts continue to remove the truck from the road to restore the free flow of traffic.
