President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Education minister, Prof. Tahir Mamman, to devise a payment plan for the four months’ salaries owed to the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU).
This directive came after a meeting between organized labour leaders and President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.
Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, president, Joe Ajaero stated that the labour unions had also brought to the President’s attention the actions of the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, who had aggressively put an end to their peaceful protest regarding the unpaid salaries.
