Two Injured As Speeding Bus Collides With Truck In Lagos

007Reporters - 06:29pm

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that two people narrowly escaped death when a commercial bus collided with a slow-moving truck in Lagos on Tuesday.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the LASEMA Permanent Secretary, reported that the accident occurred around 4:45 a.m. at Ojota, Maryland, due to high speed and loss of control by the bus driver.

The agency’s Tiger Response Team from the command and control center in Alausa, Ikeja, carried out the rescue operation.

Upon arrival, they found that a commercial bus with registration number APP 209XZ had crashed into an articulated vehicle with registration number T4845LA.

The two victims trapped inside the bus were rescued and taken to the hospital with various injuries. Investigations revealed that the bus was speeding and rammed into the slow-moving truck from behind.

The accident caused a traffic jam along the highway, but the scene was cleared, and the road reopened before rush hour.

Oke-Osanyintolu urged motorists to follow traffic rules and drive safely to prevent accidents that could result in injury or loss of life and property.
