Turkish champions Galatasaray are reportedly preparing for a summer transfer battle as Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United step up their interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to reports from Türkiye Today and other European outlets, both English clubs are closely monitoring the Super Eagles forward, with a potential transfer fee expected to fall between €130m and €140m.
Arsenal are believed to be the most determined suitors, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly identifying Osimhen as the missing piece in his attacking setup. Despite signing Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon for €66m last summer, his performances at the Emirates have not fully met expectations. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have struggled to consistently deliver as the team’s main striker.
Manchester United are also said to be keeping a close watch on the situation as they evaluate attacking reinforcements ahead of the next transfer window. Reports indicate that Osimhen’s name has resurfaced during recruitment discussions at Old Trafford, with club legend Rio Ferdinand among those urging the club to pursue the Nigerian forward.
Chelsea have also been mentioned as a potential contender in the race for the prolific striker.
Osimhen further boosted his reputation this week when he provided the assist for Galatasaray’s 1–0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash. The win added to an impressive season for the 27-year-old, who has recorded 18 goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen insisted his immediate focus remains on helping Galatasaray progress in Europe.
“I believe in this team and the kind of performance we put in against a very good side like Liverpool. I’m optimistic that we can do some damage there at Anfield,” he said.
Although Galatasaray are reluctant to lose their star striker, they understand that interest from Europe’s biggest clubs could be difficult to resist. Any potential deal would likely require a transfer fee between €120m and €140m, which would break the Turkish Super Lig transfer record and surpass the €75m the club paid Napoli to sign Osimhen permanently last summer.
