Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has called for the investigation and arrest of US missionary Alex Babir.
His call follows a video shared by Alex in which he criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over recent attacks in Plateau State. The incident reportedly left more than 10 people dead after gunmen attacked the Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday, March 29.
In the video, Alex accused the president of failing to take sufficient action to address the killings of Christians and the broader insecurity situation in the country.
Responding to the video, Bashir alleged that Alex has been moving freely while “spreading hate and attempting to incite violence against Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.”
He urged authorities to take prompt and lawful action to investigate and, if necessary, apprehend him, stressing the need to ensure accountability in order to protect peace, unity, and public order.
