NIGERIAN COMEDIAN BRODA SHAGGI HOSPITALISED AFTER BEING ALLEGEDLY SHOT ON SET

 

Popular Nigerian skit maker Broda Shaggi, whose real name is Samuel Perry, has reportedly been hospitalised after he was allegedly shot while filming a skit.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, March 8, under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State. A police source told Punch that Shaggi was quickly rushed by members of his crew to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.

Medical personnel at the hospital reportedly administered first aid before referring him to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, for further medical attention. He is currently said to be recuperating.

Details surrounding the shooting, including who was responsible, remain unclear.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the development, explaining that the police were alerted by the hospital after a gunshot victim was brought in.

She stated that detectives and a patrol team were immediately dispatched to the hospital, where they found the victim, identified as the popular skit maker Broda Shaggi, on a stretcher with a gunshot injury to his thigh.

Adebisi added that although the incident happened in Sango-Ota, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos State Police Command, investigations are currently ongoing.
